Abstrak/Catatan The objective of this research is to find out the impacts of the implementation of role play technique perceived by students on their speaking ability and the impacts of the implementation of role play technique perceived by the teacher on her students and the difficulties. In order to achieve the objective of this research, the writer used descriptive qualitative by using questionnaire items and interview guide. The subject of this study were 30 students from XI Akses I and the English teacher of SMKN 5 TELKOM BANDA ACEH. The researcher gave the students a set of questionnaires in the form of open-ended questionnaire. After gave the questionnaire, the researcher interviewed the English teacher. The results of the data were analyzed by using the system of data analysis as proposed by Miles and Huberman (1984). The results of this study showed that there were eleven kinds of positive impacts perceived by students and the teacher from the implementation of role play technique namely ; being brave to perform, increased vocabulary, being brave to perform, being active, being confident, more motivated, more interested in English, more fluently to speak, more familiar with English, easy to practice, and more able to speak. Thus, the researcher concluded that role play technique has given the positive impacts on students’ speaking ability. | |
