Abstract Name : Charyyar Hojayev Student No. : 0906102050099 Department : English Education Title : The Use of Cooperative Learning Think-Pair-Share (TPS) Technique in Teaching Reading (An Experimental Study at Fatih Bilingual School Banda Aceh) This study aims to describe how Think-Pair-Share technique is implemented in reading classroom at Fatih Bilingual School in Banda Aceh. The descriptive quantitative research is carried out and the formula suggested by Lehmann (1978) is utilized to get the result. The writer uses Simple Random Sampling to choose sample and 8th grade class students taken as sample that consists of 16 students. To collect the data from the field, the writer used two instruments namely reading test and questionnaire. The results of the research shows the Mean of the pre-test is 64.37 and post-test is 82.5. Moreover, the Think-Pair-Share technique not only improves students’ reading ability but it also motivates the students to be active in class.
