Abstrak/Catatan Abstract Name : Novi Andriani Student No. : 0606102050076 Study Program : English Title : The Use of Role Play in Teaching Students’ Speaking Skill __________________________________________________________________ Keywords: Role Play, Speaking Skill This research invetigates the use of role play in teaching students’ speaking skill. The problem of this study is: Can role play demonstrate its effectiveness in improving students’ speaking skill?The objective of this study is to explore some theories, statements or research findings which would be useful for improving teachers’ ability in teaching speaking which then leads to the improvement of the students’ skill of speaking through the use of role play in teaching speaking skill to the students of junior high school. The researcher uses the library research method to conduct this study. The literature suggest that role play can be used in teaching English especially in teaching speaking to give solution for the students who get problem in speaking, especially in expressing the idea. It has the process to construct students’ comprehension in speaking such as; listening to other friends and giving the respons as the interation in playing the role play. It alsocan be used in teaching speaking skill to students. In learning speaking, they still have many problems in developing their skills, which is usually considered as difficult skills among others. | |
