Upaya pencegahan penyakit tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian imunisasi dasar. Imunisasi dasar merupakan pemberian vaksin imunisasi yang terdiri dari BCG (bacillus celmette-guerin), DPT (difteri, pertusis dan tetanus), polio, campak, dan hepatitis b sebelum anak berusia satu tahun. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah persepsi ibu terhadap imunisasi dasar pada anak batita di Desa Paya Tungel Kecamatan Jagong Jeget Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi ibu terhadap imunisasi dasar pada anak batita di Desa Paya Tungel Kecamatan Jagong Jeget Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 5 orang ibu yang memiliki anak pertama yang berusia 0-3 tahun. Data dianalisis menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemahaman ibu baik terhadap imunisasi dasar meskipun ibu kurang memahami manfaat, frekuensi pemberian, dan usia pemberian masing-masing vaksin imunisasi. Tenggapan ibu baik terhadap imunisasi dasar baik meskipun adanya informasi bahan yang digunakan berasal dari babi dan penemuan vaksin palsu. Dapat disimpulkan, ibu-ibu di Desa Paya Tungel Kecamatan Jagong Jeget memiliki persepsi bahwa imunisasi dasar penting untuk kesehatan anak, vaksin imunisasi yang digunakan aman dan terbuat dari bahan-bahan yang aman. Keywords: perception, basic immunization, toddler During toddler age, children are still susceptible to dangerous diseases. Prevention of these diseases can be done by providing basic immunization. Basic immunization is done by giving immunization vaccines which are consisting of BCG (bacillus celmette-guerin), DPT (diphteria, pertussis, and tetanus), polio, measles, and hepatitis B before a child gets one year old. The research question in this study is how was the mothers’ perception toward basic immunization for toddlers in Paya Tungel Village, Jagong Jeget District, Central Aceh Regency. This research aimed to find out how was the mothers perception toward basic immunization for toddlers in Paya Tungel Village, Jagong Jeget District, Central Aceh Regency. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The data collection techniques used in this research is documentation, interview, and observation. The research subjects were five mothers who had the first child aged 0-3 years old. The data were analyzed by using descriptive-qualitative. The results of the research show that mothers’ understanding is good toward basic immunization even though the mothers had lack of understanding to the benefits, frequency of administration, and age of each immunization vaccine. The mothers’ responses are good toward basic immunization even though there are information about the vaccine ingredients used from pigs and the discovery of fake vaccines. It can be concluded that mothers in Paya Tungel Village, Jagong Jeget District, have perceptions that the basic immunization is important to their children’s health, the used immunization vaccine is safe and made of safe ingredients.
