Abstract Name : Fitri Fonna Student No. : 1106102020028 Study Program : English Education Title : The Teacher’s Feedback on Students’ Writing Performance Key words : Teacher’s Feedback, Form-Focused Feedback, Content-Based Feedback, Integrated Feedback, The Importance of Feedback Since English has been taught in the context of teaching English as a foreign language, writing skill has become essential to be mastered at the level of senior high school. However, for most of students writing is considered as the most difficult skill. Thus, teacher needs to provide the best possible feedback in order to improve students’ writing ability. This research was aimed at describing the teacher’s feedback on second grade students’ writing performance of SMA Negeri 10 Fajar Harapan Banda Aceh and describing the importance of teacher’s feedback. This research used Park’s theory (2006) about the three types of teacher’s feedback, namely form-focused, content-based, and integrated feedback. The design of this study was a descriptive qualitative study. To obtain the data, the writer used document analysis and interview. The result of document analysis in this study showed that the teacher tended to use form-focused and integrated feedback while content-based feedback was not used. The result of interview showed the teacher’s feedback depended on students’ need as it was believed that feedback would improve students’ writing ability.
