Keywords: Teacher Perception and Social Competency This study is about students' perceptions of teacher's social competence. Social competence is the ability of teachers to communicate and get along effectively with learners, fellow educators, education personnel, parents / guardians of learners, and the surrounding community. This study aims to determine students' perceptions of social teachers SMAN Unggul Subulussalam City in 2016/2017. The research method used is descriptive with quantitative approach. The population of this study are students of SMAN Unggul Subulussalam City which has 502 students. While the sample of 75 students. Data collection techniques are questionnaires. Data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that students' perceptions of the teacher's overall social competence were in the positive category of 89.33% and the rest were in the very positive category of 8%. While two sub-variables indicate that social skills are in the positive category of 90.67% and adaptive behavior is in the category of 89.33%. Then from the results of each indicator shows that it is in the positive category of "cooperation of 69.33%", "Assertive of 62.67%", "responsibility of 57.33%", "self control by 48%", "empathy 62.67% "," 65.33% of students "," fellow teachers 69.33% "," education staff value 58, 67% "," parents / guardians 48% ", and" community about 50.67% ". From the results of data analysis based on each indicator shows that there are still learners who have negative perceptions of the teacher's social competence. Kompetensi sosial merupakan kemampuan guru untuk berkomunikasi dan bergaul secara efektif dengan peserta didik, sesama pendidik, tenaga kependidikan, orang tua /wali peserta didik, dan masyarakat sekitar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap guru sosial SMAN Unggul Kota Subulussalam tahun 2016/2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi SMAN Unggul Kota Subulussalam yang memiliki 502 siswa. Sedangkan sampel penilitian 75 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap kompetensi sosial guru secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori positif yaitu 89,33% dan sebagian kecil lainnya berada pada kategori sangat positif yaitu 8%. Sedangkan dua sub variabel menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan sosial berada pada kategori positif yaitu 90,67% dan perilaku adaptif berada pada kategori yaitu 89,33%. Kemudian dari hasil setiap indikator menunjukkan bahwa berada pada kategori positif yaitu "kerjasama sebesar 69,33%", "Asertif sebesar 62,67%", "tanggung jawab dari 57,33% "," kontrol diri sebesar 48% "," empati sebesar 62,67% "," peserta didik sebesar 65,33% "," sesama guru sebesar 69,33% "," tenaga kependidikan nilai 58, 67% "," orang tua / wali sebesar 48% ", dan" masyarakat sekitar sebesar 50,67% ". Dari hasil analisis data berdasarkan masing-masing indikator menunjukkan masih ada peserta didik yang memiliki persepsi negatif terhadap kompetensi sosial guru. Hal ini terlihat dari jawaban siswa yang memilih alternatif jawaban dengan poin terendah menunjukkan yaitu 1,33% sampai 4%.
