Abstrak/Catatan The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of free cash flow, cash position, debt to equity ratio, and return on assets toward dividend payout ratio. The sample which used was secondary data from The Indonesian Stock Exchange, is an annual report listing the banking companies 2009-2012. Samples were taken by purposive sampling and which meet the criteria is 37 annual report of banking companies. The analysis technique which used was multiple linear regressions using SPSS 21. This study uses two variables such as dependent variable and independent variable. The dependent variable is dividend payout ratio and the independent variables are free cash flow, cash position, debt to equity ratio, and return on assets. The result of this study on simultaneous testing (F test) showed that the variable free cash flow, cash position, debt to equity ratio, and return on assets significant positive effect toward dividend payout ratio. In a partial test (T test), the variable free cash flow and debt to equity ratio showed a significant negative result, but the variable cash position and return on assets just showed a significant results.
