Abstrak/Catatan Abstract Name : Amrullah Student No. : 0706102050048 Study Program : English Language Education Title : The Impact of Using Role Play in Teaching Speaking (A Library Research) The mastery of speaking skill in English is considered as the important thing that should be mastered by students. The students should be able to speak clearly, make sure that others understood, avoid confusing in the message due to faulty pronunciation, grammar, or vocabulary. In fact, the students still face some problems in learning English, such as: lack of vocabulary, unconfident to speak English, afraid that they will make mistakes. One of techniques which can be used in teaching speaking is role play. Role play is very important in teaching speaking because it gives students an opportunity to practice communicating in different social contexts and in different social roles. Furthermore, the writer would like to examine some theories and previous researches related to the impact of using role play technique in teaching speaking. Based on the research findings and the related theories stated in literature review, to improve students speaking skills the teacher can use role play techniques. This technique is beneficial and effective and they are successfully applied by teachers to increase students’ ability in English, especially in enhancing the sub skills namely vocabulary, fluency, and comprehensibility of mastering English. Moreover, role play can give a good impact for the students when they keep practicing this technique in order to increase the speaking skill. | |
