Abstrak/Catatan ABSTRACT Yuyun Nailufar. 2017. A Comparative Analysis of Students’ Motivation in Studying English and Arabic, Thesis, Study Program: English Language Education. Graduate Program. Syiah Kuala University. Advisors: Key Words: Motivation, Language Learning This research is intended to find out motivation types used by English major students and Arabic major students of Ar-Raniry State Islamic University ˂ 4.19. Besides, Arabic students of UIN Ar-Raniry were also dominantly used integrative motivation in learning Arabic. It is based on the result of mean score of instrumental motivation which is lower than integrative motivation 3.09 ˂ 4.29. Based on this result, it can be concluded that the English students and Arabic students of UIN Ar-Raniry have similarities in using types of motivation for learning target language. Both of major students used integrative motivation dominantly than instrumental motivation. ABSTRAK Yuyun Nailufar. 2017.
