INTISARI PERANCANGAN INSTALASI LISTRIK PADA LABORATORIUM ENERGI LISTRIK BERDASARKAN PUIL Oleh M. YANI 1404005010017 Penambahan jumlah praktikum merupakan penambahan beban dan perubahan instalasi listrik pada Laboratorium Energi Listrik. Rancangan instalasi listrik yang sudah ada pada Laboratorium tersebut belum terstandarisasi dengan peraturan yang ada. Untuk sistem instalasi listrik pada bangunan, khususnya pada Laboratorium Energi Listrik diperlukan perencanaan yang matang supaya sistem tersebut mampu bekerja dengan efektif, dan sistem tersebut mampu mengatasi gangguan yang terjadi dalam proses penyaluran atau pendistribusian tenaga listrik di Laboratorium tersebut. Peraturan Umum Instalasi Listrik (PUIL) merupakan kumpulan peraturan yang berlaku serta harus ditaati dalam merencanakan suatu rancangan instalasi listrik. PUIL dibuat dengan tujuan untuk melindungi manusia dan makhluk hidup lain terhadap bahaya sentuhan dan kejutan arus listrik, mengamankan instalasi dan peralatan listrik, menjaga gedung serta isinya dari bahaya kebakaran akibat gangguan listrik, serta menjaga ketenagaan listrik yang tetap aman. Perancangan instalasi listrik ini, umumnya merupakan rancangan instalasi dengan sistem saluran tiga phasa. Perancangan instalasi listrik yang dilakukan pada Laboratorium Energi Listrik adalah mengatur jenis dan besar harga kapasitas pengaman diatas beban yang terinstalasi pada sirkit akhir ataupun kapasitas pengaman pada sirkit utama, serta menentukan jenis dan besar diameter/ luas penampang kabel instalasi dengan beban listrik tertentu. Hasil perancangan yang sesuai dengan standar diharapkan dapat dipakai sebagai pedoman apabila dikemudian hari diadakan kegiatan perawatan dan perbaikan instalasi listrik pada Laboratorium Energi Listrik.
