ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Hipertrofi ventrikel kiri (HVK) merupakan salah satu komplikasi gagal ginjal kronik (GGK) terbanyak, lebih dari 50% kematian penderita gagal ginjal kronik disebabkan oleh hipertrofi ventrikel kiri. Dengan adanya hipertensi dan DM yang merupakan penyebab terbanyak pada GGK akan mempercepat terjadinya komplikasi ke sistem kardiovaskular. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan hipertensi dan DM dengan hipertrofi ventrikel kiri pada pasien yang menjalani hemodialisis kronik. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik observasional dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional, HVK di deteksi dengan menggunakan alat elektrokardiography, GGK yang disebabakan oleh hipertensi dan DM dilihat dari diagnosis dokter dan lama hemodialisis dilihat dari buku registrasi. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada tanggal 06 juni 2016 - 04 juli 2016. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cara Accidental Sampling dengan jumlah sampel 38 orang. Datayang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji Chi-Squere dan uji alternatif uji Kruskal Wallis test. Hasil: Dari 38 responden penelitian sebanyak 15 responden yang mengalami hipertrofi ventrikel kiri dan 23 tidak mengalami hipertrofi ventrikel kiri. Hasil uji Kruskal Wallis test menunjukkan bahwa nilai p value = 0,433 (>0,05). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan antara hipertensi dan DM dengan hipertrofi ventrikel kiri pada pasien yang menjalani hemodialisis kronik. ABSTRACT Background: Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVK) is one of the most complications of chronic renal failure (CRF), more than 50% of deaths in patients with chronic renal failure caused by left ventricular hypertrophy. With the presence of hypertension and diabetes mellitus which is the most common cause in the CRF will increase the occurrence of complications to the cardiovascular system. Objective: To find out the correlation of hypertension and diabetes mellitus with left ventricular hypertrophy in chronic hemodialysis undergo patients. Methods: This study is an observational analytic research with cross sectional approach, HVK in detection by using the electrocardiography, GGK which are caused by hypertension and DM is observed from doctor's diagnosis and the length of hemodialysis is seen from the registration book. Data were collected on 06 June 2016-04 July 2016. The sampling technique is accidental sampling method with a sample of 38 people. The data was analyzed by Chi-Squere and alternative test Kruskal Wallis-test. Results: There are 15 of 38 respondents who endure of left ventricular hypertrophy and the rest 23 participants are negative from the issue. Kruskal Wallis test results showed that the p value = 0.433 (> 0.05). Conclusions: There is no correlation between hypertension or diabetes mellitus with left ventricular hypertrophy in chronic hemodialysis undergo patients.
