ABSTRACT Local discernment is a noble values applicable in the governance of public life. Local wisdom in welcoming guests itself is now regarded as the traditional culture in the younger generation mind. Time by times of diminishing local discernment than ever before. Local discernment of welcoming guests at the Regent office of Gayo Lues which has always been done through peusijuk (sacral welcoming guest), saman dance, and Didong nalo dance, Bies and presentation of local food in welcoming guests governance. The Government Gayo Lues agencies have amajor role on the continuity and responsible for the preservation of local wisdom in welcoming guests who increasingly faded from the original indigenous people of Gayo Lues. This study aimed to determine the background of the regent office of Gayo Lues preserve local discernment in welcoming guests and to know the government's efforts to preserve indigenous Gayo Lues welcoming guests. This research used descriptive qualitative research, informants obtained by purposive sampling method. Researchers used the theory of social systems proposed by Talcott Parsons. The data obtained were collected by interview, observation and literature study. The results showed that the preservation of local discernment were series of concepts created by the government is considered an important and valuable for indigenous Gayo Lues has the potential of local culture alive and preserved local community. Welcoming guests at the regent's office is one effort to the preservation of local wisdom in Gayo Lues. Keywords: Local Wisdom, Welcoming the guest, Government Agencies ABSTRAK Kearifan lokal merupakan nilai-nilai luhur yang berlaku dalam tata kehidupan masyarakat. Kearifan lokal dalam menyambut tamu sendiri saat ini telah dianggap sebagai budaya tradisional di dalam pemikiran para generasi muda. Seiring perkembangan zaman kearifan lokal semakin berkurang dibandingkan masa sebelumnya. Kearifan lokal menyambut tamu di kantor Bupati Gayo Lues yang sejak dulu telah ada ialah tepung tawar, tari saman, didong nalo serta tari bies dan penyajian makanan lokal dalam penyambutan tamu pemerintahan. Instansi pemerintah Gayo Lues mempunyai peran yang besar terhadap kelangsungan serta bertanggung jawab untuk pelestarian kearifan lokal dalam menyambut tamu yang kian luntur dari adat asli masyarakat Gayo Lues. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui latarbelakang kantor bupati Gayo Lues melestarikan kearifan lokal dalam menyambut tamu serta mengetahui upaya pemerintah Gayo Lues melestarikan kearifan lokal menyambut tamu. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, informan diperoleh dengan metode purposive sampling. Peneliti menggunakan teori sistem sosial yang dikemukakan oleh Talcott Parson. Data yang diperoleh dikumpulkan dengan cara wawancara mendalam, observasi dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pelestarian kearifan lokal merupakan rangkaian konsep yang di buat oleh pemerintah dianggap penting dan bernilai karena kearifan lokal Gayo Lues memiliki potensi budaya lokal yang masih hidup dan dilestarikan masyarakat setempat. Penyambutan tamu di kantor bupati merupakan salah satu upaya guna pelestarian kearifan lokal di Gayo Lues. Kesimpulannya bahwa penyambutan tamu dengan kearifan lokal membawa hasil yang positif terhadap kebudayaan Gayo sendiri. Dilihat keberhasilannya dalam mengembangkan potensi kearifan lokal menyambut tamu yang digagas oleh Pemerintahan Gayo Lues yang sekarang sangat jarang dijumpai. Perencanaan program-program guna mengupayakan pelestarian kearifan lokal menyambut tamu terealisasikan, promosi maupun minat masyarakat terhadap kebudayaan lokal sendiri meningkat. Pemerintah Gayo Lues melakukan hal-hal yang mendorong terciptanya pelestarian berjalan maksimal sebagaimana mestinya agar terciptanya suatu pelestarian terhadap perubahan kearifan lokal menyambut tamu tersebut.
