Abstract Name : Erna sasnita Student No : 0606102020035 Study Program : English Education Title : The Contribution of MURDER Model on Reading Comprehension Skill Library research aims to look at some given theories and research findings on the contribution of MURDER (Mood, Understanding, Recall, Digest, Expand, and Review) model for reading comprehension skill. MURDER is one of teaching models developed by Dansearu et.al in 1975 that can be applied in reading activity. The most problem that is found in reading activity that there are still many students difficult in understanding English text. Therefore, the scope of this study is limited to found out how MURDER model helps students to comprehend the English text and motivate students to participate in reading activity. The result of study showed that the implementation of MURDER can help readers to comprehend the texts. Besides, it also enhancing students’ participation in the reading activity. Since the data analysis of this study is descriptive, the writer described the solution in a written explanation to the problems earlier stated in the background of this study. Furthermore, it is suggested that English teachers can solve reading problems by using MURDER model. Finally, this study is expected to be useful for readers, teachers, and students.
