ABSTRAK Nama : Syifa Andriani Fakultas : Kedokteran Gigi Judul Skripsi : Gambaran Histopatologis Hati Tikus Putih (Rattus Norvegicus) Jantan Setelah Diinfeksi dengan Streptococcus mutans Streptococcus mutans dilaporkan sebagai faktor pemicu terjadinya infeksi endokarditis, stroke hemoragi, dan terlibat pada infeksi glomerulus ginjal. Sebagai komensal normal rongga mulut, S. mutans dapat bersifat bakteremia. Proses infeksi oleh S. mutans terhadap host melibatkan faktor virulen dan matrik ekstra seluler. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran histopatologis hati tikus putih (Rattus Norvegicus) jantan setelah diinfeksi dengan Streptococcus mutans. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental laboratoris dengan rancangan post test only control group melalui pendekatan split plot yang menggunakan 24 ekor tikus terdiri dari kelompok kontrol yang diinjeksikan NaCl 0,9% dan kelompok perlakuan yang diinjeksikan 109 CFU/ml suspensi S. mutans dan dibagi dalam kelompok hari ke-7, 14, 21 dan 30 dan selanjutnya dilakukan pembuatan preparat histopatologis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada hari ke-7, 14 dan 21 terjadi lisis sel sinusoid, hiperemi, hemoragi, nekrosis dan infiltrasi sel radang, sedangkan pada hari ke-30 terjadi edema dan kerusakan sel parenkim hati. Infeksi tersebut mengindikasikan hati tikus sebagai subjek penelitian telah mengalami infeksi kronis. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa S. mutans dapat menjadi faktor penentu infeksi pada hati dan kerusakan sel dan jaringan pada hati Kata kunci: Streptococcus mutans, Hepatitis, Bakterinemia.   ABSTRACT Name : Syifa Andriani Faculty : Dentistry Title : TheProfiles of LiverHistopathology of Rat (Rattus Norvegicus)after infected by Streptococcus mutans Streptococcus mutans reported as thetriger factor in the endocarditis, hemorrhagic stroke, and is involved in infection of glomerulus of kidney. As the oral commensal, S. mutans can be bakteremia and S. mutans infection using its virulence protein to adrerence of extra cellular matrix protein of host. Aim of this research to determine the histopathologic liver of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) male after infected with S. mutans. This study design is experimental laboratories with post test only control group through an approach that uses a split plot consisted of 24 mice injected control group with 0.9% NaCl and treatment group were injected 109 CFU/ml suspension of S. mutans and divided in groups 7 days, 14, 21 and 30 days. The results showed the occurrence of 7, 14 and 21 days occur lysis of sinusoid cell, hyperemia, haemorrhagi, necrosis and inflammatory cell infiltration, also at day 30 occurred edema and damage parenchyma cellsof the liver. Suggestion, infection by S. mutans on the liver as the triger factors on the hepatitis. Cloncluded, S. mutans can be a main factor or trigger factor in the infection of the liver and to damage to cells and tissues in the liver. Key Words: Streptococcus mutans, Bakteremia, Hepatitis
