Masyarakat minoritas Hindu di Kota Banda Aceh memiliki hak untuk memilih pemimpin. Mereka memiliki andil sebagai aktor pewujud Indonesia yang demokratis. Meskipun begitu, catatan tentang pengaruh, peran dan partisipasi politik mereka pada Pemilu yang telah diselenggarakan dirasa masih minim. Penelitian ini mencari jawaban terhadap pengaruh, peran dan partisipasi politik masyarakat minoritas Hindu di Kota Banda Aceh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk partisipasi masyarakat minoritas Hindu serta hambatannya pada pada Pemilu Presiden 2014 di Kota Banda Aceh. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara. Ditambah penelitian kepustakaan untuk memperoleh data sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk partisipasi masyarakat minoritas Hindu di Kota Banda Aceh pada Pemilu Presiden 2014 sebatas memilih di TPS, tidak ditemukan data yang mengatakan aktif pada kegiatan menyeluruh seperti, kampanye, menjadi tim sukses, dan aktif di partai. Disimpulkan bahwa partisipasi masyarakat minoritas Hindu di kota Banda Aceh pada Pemilu Presiden 2014 bersifat pasif. Ditemukan 4 faktor yang menjadi hambatan masyarakat minoritas Hindu di kota Banda Aceh berpartisipasi pada Pemilu Presiden 2014 yaitu: pertama, kesadaran berpartisipasi masyarakat minoritas Hindu sangat minim; kedua, waktu pelaksanaan Pemilu Presiden 2014 tidak relevan dengan aktivitas masyarakat; tiga, sosialisasi yang belum maksimal; empat, isu religiusitas non muslim menjadi alat propaganda dan black campaign. Pemerintah memiliki tugas untuk membuka cakrawala politik pada masyarakat minoritas. Perlu dilaksanakan secara khusus pendidikan politik sebagai upaya meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat minoritas Hindu di kota Banda Aceh. Selanjutnya, masyarakat mayoritas sebagai pengayom utama lingkungan dituntut untuk memberi contoh perilaku politik positif dan mendidik, agar terhindar dari isu diskriminatif. Hum and Danil Akbar Taqwadin, B.IA., M.Sc) Despite minority, Hindu community in Banda Aceh have the right to participate in Indonesian Presidential Election. They contribute as one of parties to succeed the democracyin Indonesia. Even so, from the record of influence, the community’s role as well as political participation in the election has been very minimal. This research is seeking answers to the influence and the roles of the political participation of the Hindu minority community in Banda Aceh. The purpose of this study is to determine the shape of the Hindu minority community participation as well as the constraints they faced on the 2014 Presidential Election in Banda Aceh. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. Primary data collection technique is conducted by interview and library research to obtain secondary data. The results showed that the participation of Hindu minority community in Banda Aceh on the 2014 Presidential Election was limited to vote in polling stations only. There is no data showing a thorough activities such as active involvment in campaigns, campaign success team, or in the party. It is concluded that the participation of the Hindu minority community in the city of Banda Aceh on the 2014 Presidential Election was passive. 4 factors were found to explainthe barriers to the minority Hindu to participate in the 2014 Presidential election: first, the awareness of the minority Hindu community participation was minimal; second, the presidential election in 2014 was not relevant to the community activity; three, the presidential election socialization was not maximized; four, the issue of non-Muslim religiosity became a propaganda tool and black campaign. There is still work to be done by the Government to open a political horizon to minority communities. Government should carry out political education as an effort to increase the participation of minority Hindu community in the city of Banda Aceh. Then, the majority community as the main protector of the environment are required to educate and give positive examples of political behavior in order to avoid discrimantory issues.
