Abstrak/Catatan SUPERVISI AKADEMIK KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM PENINGKATAN KINERJA GURU DI SD NEGERI SIMPANG TIGA MEUREUDU KABUPATEN PIDIE JAYA Oleh: Marhaban NIM: 1209200050044 Komisi Pembimbing: 1. Prof. Dr. Cut Zahri Harun, M. Pd. 2. Dr. Sakdiah Ibrahim, M. Pd. ABSTRAK Supervisi ini diberikan oleh kepala sekolah kepada guru dalam rangka memperbaiki kinerja guru terutama pada perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi serta hasil pembelajaran.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui supervisi akademik kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan kinerja guru, sebagai berikut: (1) Disiplin guru; (2) Tanggung jawab guru dan (3) Hambatan yang dihadapinya. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pedoman wawancara, pedoman observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, pengawas dan guru di SD Negeri Simpang Tiga Meureudu Kabupaten Pidie Jaya. Hasil penelitian ditemukan: (1) Disiplin guru berhubungan erat dengan kepatuhan dalam bentuk kehadiran tepat waktu, mengajar sesuai dengan perencanaan dan menyusun perangkat pembelajaran seperti rincian minggu efektif, RPP, program tahunan, program semseter, dan kriteria ketuntasan minimal; (2) Tanggung jawab dalam pembelajaran merupakan tugas pokok guru meliputi: sebagai pengajar, pembimbing, administrator kelas, pengembangan kurikulum, pengembangan profesi dan membina hubungan masyarakat, serta bertanggung jawab atas segala sikap, tingkah laku, dan amalannya dalam rangka membina dan membimbing anak didik; dan (3) Hambatan merupakan halangan yang dihadapi kepala sekolah baik berasal dari dalam dirinya sendiri (internal sekolah) seperti: kurang stabilitas emosional, kurang penguasaan keterampilan teknologi dan lingkungan sekolah dan masyarakat; maupun berasal dari luar dirinya (eksternal sekolah) meliputi: kebijakan pemerintah, kurangnya sarana dan prasarana sekolah, dan iklim sekolah yang tidak kondusif. Diharapkan kepada pengawas agar dapat mengarahkan dan mengawasi kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan kinerja guru tentang disiplin, tanggung jawab guru dan hambatan yang dihadapinya secara efektif dan efesiensi sehingga kinerja guru dapat ditingkatkan. Kata Kunci: Supervisi Akademik, Kepala Sekolah, dan Kinerja Guru THE ACADEMIC SUPERVISION BY THE PRINCIPAL INIMPROVING TEACHERS’ PERFORMANCE IN STATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLOF SIMPANG TIGA MEUREUDU OF PIDIE JAYA REGENCY ABSTRACT (Marhaban) Academic supervision is given by the principal to the teachers in order to improve the teachers’ performance, especially in planning, implementing, and evaluating the learning, and the results of the leaming.The purpose of this study was to find outthe academic supervisionby the principal inimproving the teachers’ performance, including: (1) The discipline of teachers; (2) The responsibility of teachers, and (3) The obstacles faced by the principal. This study usedqualitative approach with descriptive method. Techniques of data collection were through interview, observation,and documentation study. Subjects of this study werethe principal, the school supervisor, andthe teachers in State Elementary School of Simpang Tiga Meureudu of Pidie Jaya Regency. It was found from the results of this study that: (1) The discipline of the teachers were closely related to their obedience in term of coming on time, teaching based on the planning, and formulating teaching instruments, such as effective weeks, lesson plan, annual program, semester program, and standard competency.(2) Theresponsibility in teaching was the main duty of the teachers, which included as an instructor, a guider, a class administrator, a curriculum developer, a profession developer, and relationship builder with the community, and was also responsible to any attitudes, behaviors, and practices in order to fostering and guiding the students. (3)The obstacleswere the obstruction faced by the principal both from internal of the principal, such as unstable emotion, not mastering technology well, and not knowing the school environment and community well, and from the external of the principal, such as the government policy, lack of school facilities and infrastructure, and the unconducive school condition. It is expected for the school supervisor to be able to effectively and efficiently direct and supervise the principal in improving the teachers’ performance, including the teachers’ discipline, responsibility, and the obstacles faced, so that the teachers’ can be improved.
