Abstrak/Catatan Abstract Name : Cut Ainal Mardhiah Student No. : 0906102050033 Study Program : English Education Title :The Use of Clustering Technique in Increasing Students’ Ability in Writing Descriptive Text (An Experimental Study of Second Grade Students at MTsN Kuta Baro Aceh Besar) Keywords : Writing Skill, Clustering technique, Descriptive Text This study aims at examining whether the use of clustering technique increases students’ writing ability in writing descriptive text. Quantitative approach with experimental study of pretest-postest control group design was undertaken to overcome the problems faced by students in learning writing skill. The instrument used to collect the data in this study by means of the test in the form of written test. The results of the test analyzed by using writing criteria proposed by Brown (2004). In addition, some statisctical formula were also used to analyze the data. From the results of the study revealed there is a significant improvement on students’ writing ability after clustering technique implemented. Thus, clustering can be used by the English teacher as one of alternative techniques in teaching English particularly teaching writing in EFL class. | |
