Abstrak/Catatan Abstract Name : Husnidawati Student No. : 1006102050064 Study Program : English Education Title : An Experimental Study In Teaching Speaking Skill by Using Think Pair Share Technique at SMPN 6 Banda Aceh. Keywords : Speaking, Think pair share technique. This study aims at examining whether the use of think pair share technique improve students‟ performance in English speaking ability. Quantitative approach with experimental study of pretest-postest control group design undertaken to overcome the problem faced by students in learning speaking skill. The instrument use d to collect the data in this study by means of the test in the form of oral test. The result of the test analyzed by using speaking criteria proposed by Brown (2004). In addition, some statistical formulas were also used to analyze the data. From the results of the study revealed there is a significant improvement on students‟ performance in speaking ability after the think pair share technique implemented. Thus, think pair share can be one of alternative techniques used by the teacher in teaching English particularly teaching speaking in EFL class. | |
