Abstrak/Catatan In learning reading, the student feels hard to comprehend the material because they do not have chance to discuss and also lack of vocabulary. So that the researcher wants to conduct a research entitled “Teaching Reading by Using Number Head Together (NHT)”. The objective of this study is to find out whether NHT technique improves the students` comprehension in teaching reading. In this research, the writer only focused on the useful of NHT technique in improving reading descriptive text. In this research, the researcher uses the experimental method to achieve its purpose. The data were collected by pretest and posttest. Then, the writer employed some statistical formulas that are mean score, standard deviation and T-Score. After calculating the data, this study showed that the value of T-test is 2.85 (significant 0.05 and 0.01) with (df) 30 are 1.697 and 2.457 for one tail test. So T-test (2.85) is higher than T-table (1.697 and 2.457), therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) “there is an improvement of using NHT technique in teaching reading comprehension of second grade students at SMPN 1 Baitussalam” is accepted. | |
