this study aims at examining whether the use of group work activities techniques solve students’ problems in teaching speaking skill which is focused on expressing agreement and disagreement. quantitative approach with experimental study of one group pretest-postest design was undertaken to overcome the problems faced by students in teaching speaking skill. the instrument used to collect the data in this study by means of the test in the form of oral test. the result of the test analyzed by using speaking criteria proposed by brown (2004). in addition, some statistical formulate were also used to analyze the data. thus, the writer found that the t-score of this study is higher than the
