Abstract name : elfi suryani student no : 0906102020004 study program : english language education title : applying mind mapping strategy to teach reading comprehension (an experimental study at smp 1 kuta baro) the objective of this research was to find out whether or not there was a significant difference in reading comprehension achievement of students who were taught by using mind mapping strategy. this research was conducted at smp negeri 1 kuta baro. the sample was the students of class viii1. the research used one group pre-test post-test design. in collecting data, the researcher administered pre-test, treatments, and post-test. the mean score of pre-test was 50 and the post-test was 80.58. it can be found that the improving of the mean was 30.58 point. furthermore, result of calculation of t-test was 13.06, while the critical value of 0.05 significant levels was 2.12. because the obtained of t-test (13.06) was higher than the t-score measurement table (2.12). it can
