, dan f2 (minyeuk brok 40%). evaluasi sediaan salep ditentukan menggunakan metode cycling test dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa semua formulasi memiliki organoleptis, homogenitas, dan ph yang tidak berubah selama tes, dengan daya sebar dan daya lekat masing-masing yaitu 4 detik, serta terjadinya perubahan viskositas setelah cycling test. tes tempel dilakukan untuk menentukan reaksi alergi, hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa semua formula sediaan salep tidak menyebabkan reaksi alergi pada kulit normal dari 15 sukarelawan. uji aktivitas antibakteri juga dilakukan terhadap semua formulasi, dan hasil menunjukkan bahwa sediaan salep f2 memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap staphylococcus aureus dengan diameter zona hambat sebesar 14.6 mm. kata kunci: salep, minyeuk pliek u, minyeuk brok, staphylococcus aureus, cycling test, tes tempel abstract research of formulation minyeuk pliek u (minyeuk brok) ointment and antibacterial activity test against staphylococcus aureus was carried out. the purposes of this studies were to determine the activity of minyeuk brok and minyeuk brok ointment on the growth of staphylococcus aureus. the other aim of this study was to determine the safety of the minyeuk brok ointment. the results of the characterization showed the minyeuk brok have peroxide number was 32 mg kg, acid number was 5.83 mgkoh/g, iodine number was 73.60 g iod/100 g, and water content was 0.018%. the results of the antibacterial activity of minyeuk brok against staphylococcus aureus using the well diffusion method showed that minyeuk brok at a concentration of 20% had the strongest antibacterial activity with the diameter of the inhibition zone was 11.6 mm. the preparation of minyeuk brok ointment was carried out using a hydrocarbon base with 3 types of formulations, namely f0 (control), f (minyeuk brok 20%), and f2 (minyeuk brok 40%). evaluation of the ointment was determined with cycling test methods and the results showed that all formulation have organoleptic, homogenity, and ph values were not change during the test, with spreadability and stickiness were less 5 cm and more 4 second respectively and changes of viscosity after cycling test. patch test were conducted to determine of allergic reactions, the results showed that all formulas of the ointment did not cause an allergic reaction on normal skin of 15 volunteers. the antibacterial activity of the all formulas also determined, and the results showed that the formula of f2 has antibacterial activity againts staphylococcus aureus with the diameter of inhibition zone was 14.6 mm. keywords: ointment, minyeuk pliek u, minyeuk brok, staphylococcus aureus, cycling test, patch
