this research is about devoloping students’ ability in writing recount text through picture media. the objective of this research is to know whether there is any developing of students’ writing ability after they are taught through picture media in teaching writing and to know which aspects of writing increase more after they are taught through picture media in teaching writing. the methodology of this research was quantitative experimental research, that was one group pretest-posttest design. the subject of this research was the second grader of 17 students. in completing the research, the researcher used written test as an instrument of collecting data. it was found that using picture media in teachingwriting
