the objective of this study is to know whether there is a significant improvement of
students’ reading comprehension after the teacher implemented reading aloud
technique. this research applied quantitative design. the population was all the
students of eight grades of smp negeri 5 banda aceh. the sample was the students
of class eight-1. the researcher used one group pre-test and post-test design. the
researcher administered pre-test, treatment and post-test to collect the data. the mean
score of pre-test was 52 and post-test was 90.8. the finding showed that the
improvement of the mean was 38.8. the critical value of
