this study was conducted with the aims to discover impact of songs in promoting students’ affective domain in listening. the data was collected and analyzed in terms of qualitative approach. the data was obtained through observation and interview. results of this study showed that songs impact positively in students’ affective domain. by using song, students seemed enthusiast to learn listening. additionally, students listened and remembered well the title of the new introduced song (receiving phenomena), were active in class participation (responding phenomena), showed the ability to solve problems although they still were incompetent doing this individually (valuing), capable in managing their
