Abstrak

The way the teachers speak to students, or it is also known as teachers’ talk, is believed to be one of aspect that determines the success of teaching and learning process. therefore, to achieve the goals of teaching, teachers can stimulate students through providing and giving feedback related to subject matter. the objective of this study is to describe three types of teachers’ feedbacks on students learning at xi grade in sman 10 fajar harapan banda aceh. it is a descriptive qualitative study. recording, observation sheet, field notes, and interview are used to collect the data. the result of this study shows that informing appeared to be the most dominant type applied by the teacher (51.8%) followed by prompting (29.6%) and encouragement (18.5%). it can be concluded that the teacher of grade xi sma negeri 10 fajar harapan banda aceh preferred to use informing than prompting or encouragement in giving feedbacks toward students’ answers and in correcting students’ mistakes. thus
