Abstract name : mawadah student no. : 1106102020014 study program : english education title :teaching writing recount text by using photographs (an experimental research at the tenth grade students of sma negeri 1 trienggadeng) this research is conducted to find out whether teaching writing recount text by using photographs can improves students’ writing ability and to find out the students’ responses toward the implementation of photographs. the sample of this study was 54 students of class x. the experimental research was conducted from february 2th until february 20th 2016. the data were collected by using test (pre-test and post-test). the instrument used the collect the data in this study by means of the test in the form of written test. the result of the test analyzed by using writing criteria proposed by brown (2004). in addition, some statistical formula were also used to analyzed the data. the result of the study revealed that the students score of writing taught
