Abstrak

Abstract name : yuni arita student no : 1006102020022 study program : english education title : the application of detailed reading strategy (drs) in improving students’ reading comprehension (an experimental study at smpn 1 bandar baru) keywords : detailed reading strategy (drs), reading comprehension this research is an experimental study, and it used quasi experimental research with time-series design. the research was conducted at smpn 1 bandar baru with the sample of 21 second grade students. it was taken by using random sampling. the instruments used were pre-test and post-test. the tests consist of multiple choice questions of narrative texts. the mean score of first and second pretest is 50. meanwhile the third pretest is 73. the score of posttests are 66, 66.6, and 76.2. based on robson (2013) theory, this study gained the pattern of “premature effect experiment”. this graphic show that there
