many students at smpn 1 banda aceh were found to have low performance in reading comprehension because teachers still taught the students with less appropriate techniques for reading comprehension. therefore, this research was aimed at knowing whether the use of csr can improve the students’ ability in reading comprehension at the second grade students’ of junior high school or not. this study used quantitative approach through a pre-experimental research by using one group pretest and posttest design. the population of this study is the second grade students at smpn 1 banda aceh, while the sample of this study is viii-5 class which
