this study investigated the students’ expectations towards native english speaker teachers as perceived by 49 efl students and 2 nests at language course of syiah kuala university. the students learn english taught by native english speaking teachers (nests) and non native english speaking teachers (nnests). however, this study was not to compare nests and nnests, but it was intended to obtain the information on students’ expectations towards their nests only. this study is a survey research which used interview questions and questionnaire items adopted from wu (2009) as instrument. the purpose of this study is not only to explore the efl students' expectations toward nests, it also aims
