. tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan strategi mekanisme koping dengan kualitas hidup pasien pasca stroke di rsudza banda aceh. jenis penelitian deskriptif korelatif dengan desain penelitian cross sectional study. sampel penelitian sebanyak 62 reponden. pengumpulan data dengan wawancara terpimpin berdasarkan kuesioner yang terdiri dari 26 item pernyataan dari who dan 16 item pernyataan yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti dalam skala likert. metode analisis data menggunakan uji statistik chi-square. hasil penelitian menyatakan ada hubungan strategi mekanisme koping dengan kualitas hidup (p-value = 0,001), ada hubungan mekanisme koping yang berfokus pada masalah dengan kualitas hidup (p-value = 0,030), dan ada hubungan mekanisme koping yang berfokus pada emosi dengan kualitas hidup (p-value = 0,017). disarankan kepada perawat agar dapat mengimplementasikan strategi mekanisme koping yang adaptif pada pasien pasca stroke agar dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien tersebut. kata kunci : stroke, strategi mekanisme koping, kualitas hidup daftar bacaan : 36 buku + 6 skripsi/jurnal + 3 bahan internet (1998 - 2011) ministry of education and culture university of syiah kuala medical faculty school of nursing undergraduate thesis july, 15th 2013 vi chapters + 81 pages + 9 table + 1 scheme + 18 attachment dora hastura 0907101020031 the correlation between strategy coping mechanisms with quality of life post-stroke patients in policlinic’s neurology general hospital dr. zainoel abidin banda aceh year 2013 abstract individuals who experienced a stroke often have psychosocial problems related to disability activities. strategy of coping mechanisms is an attempt being made to face the changes experienced. strategies appropriate coping mechanisms for stroke patients can improve the negative perception of disability such mobilization. coping mechanism which focuses on the issues and emotions that are expected to improve the welfare of adaptive physical health, psychological, social relationships and environment that lead to the formation of a good quality of life in patients. the research objective was to determine the correlation between coping mechanisms strategy with the quality of life in stroke patients rsudza banda aceh. descriptive type of research is correlative with the cross sectional study design. the samples in this study were 62 respondents. data collection with interviews guided by a questionnaire consisting of 26 items from who and 16 items were developed by researcher in a likert scale statements. methods of data analysis using chi-square statistical test. the results obtained state that there was a correlation between coping mechanisms strategy with the quality of life of respondents (p-value = 0.001), there was a correlation between problem focused coping mechanism with quality of life (p-value = 0.030), and there was a correlation between emotion focused coping mechanisms with quality of life (p-value = 0.017). it is recommended to nurses in order to implementation adaptive strategies coping mechanisms in post-stroke patients in order to improve the quality of life of these patients. keywords : stroke, strategies coping mechanisms, quality of life reading list : 36 books + 6 thesis / journal + 3 internet resources
