latar belakang
konstipasi adalah gangguan pergerakan saluran cerna yang ditandai dengan frekuensi buang air besar kurang dari tiga kali dalam seminggu. sekitar setengah geriatri mengalami konstipasi. short chain fatty acid seperti asam butirat dan propionat merupakan produk utama fermentasi mikroba mempengaruhi motilitas usus besar serta berperan pada patogenesis konstipasi. penelitian menunjukkan efek terapetik suplemen butirat untuk mengurangi nyeri buang air besar.
tujuan
untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar asam butirat feses pasien geriatri, dan menganalisis perbedaan kadar asam butirat feses pasien geriatri dengan konstipasi dan yang tidak konstipasi
bahan dan cara
penelitian bersifat cross sectional, menilai kadar asam butirat feses pasien yang mengalami konstipasi dan yang tidak konstipasi.

Siti Adewiah, 2018) , nstipasi dan tidak konstipasi dengan jumlah masing-masing kelompok sama besar. 13 orang (54,2%) yang mengalami konstipasi dan 11 orang (45,8%) yang tidak mengalami konstipasi memiliki kadar scfa feses normal. kadar asam propionat juga normal pada kedua kelompok. kadar rata-rata asam butirat feses kelompok konstipasi lebih rendah secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan kelompok tidak mengalami konstipasi, masing-masing 1,19 µmol/g dan 2,85 µmol/g. kesimpulan kadar asam butirat absolut feses pasien konstipasi lebih rendah secara signifikan dibandingkan pasien non konstipasi kata kunci: scfa, asam butirat, konstipasi, geriatri abstract analysis levels of fecal butyric acid in geriatric patients with constipation introduction constipation is a movement disorder of the digestive tract characterized by the frequency of having bowel movements less than three times a week. about half of geriatrics are constipated. short chain fatty acids such as butyric and propionic acid are the main products of microbial fermentation which affect the motility of the colon and play a role in the pathogenesis of constipation. research shows the therapeutic effect of butyrate supplements for reducing painful bowel movements. objectives to determine the level of fecal butyric acid in geriatric patients, and analyzing the differences in fecal butyric acid levels in geriatric patients with constipation and those who were not. methods this study is cross sectional, assessing fecal butyric acid levels patients who are constipated and who are not constipated. results thirty patients aged over 60 years were divided into two groups, namely the constipation group and the non-constipated group with the same number of each group. 13 people (54.2%) who experienced constipation and 11 people (45.8%) who did not experience constipation had normal fecal scfa levels. propionic acid levels were also normal in both groups. the mean level of fecal butyric acid in the constipation group was significantly lower than that of the non-constipated group, respectively 1.19 µmol/g and 2.85 µmol/g. conclusion the fecal butyric acid level of constipated patients was significantly lower than that of non constipated patients. key words: scfa, butyric acid, constipation, Tulisan yang relevan HUBUNGAN POLIFARMASI DENGAN POTENSI INTERAKSI OBAT PADA PASIEN GERIATRI DI RUANG RAWAT INAP PENAKIT DALAM RUMAH SAKIT UMUM DAERAH DR.
