ur’ani which was divided into 4 classes. then, the two classes were taken as the samples of the experimental group and control group by using random sampling technique. a number of 20 students in science class participated for the experimental group and 20 students in religious class participated for the control group. the first data was analyzed by using normality test, test of variance, and t-test which was assisted by the software spss (statistical product and service solution) version 22. moreover, the second data was analyzed by using the percentage formula. the finding showed that pqrst technique improved students’ reading comprehension. the experimental group students had higher reading scores (79) than those of control group (55.5). the students’ reading achievement in both groups were different as indicated by t-score. the result of t-score between two groups is 4.425, the significant difference score is 0.000 which is lower than ? = 0.05. it means that there is significant difference between two groups. therefore, the alternate hypotheses is accepted and null hypotheses is rejected. in other words, it could be concluded that the pqrst technique effectively improved the students’ achievement in reading skill such as main idea, inference, reference, vocabulary and stated detail as well as gave many advantages to the students.
