t-test design. the result shows that there was a significant improvement on students’ reading comprehension by applying group investigation technique. it was found by comparing pre-test and post-test score. the mean score of pre-test was 52.6. meanwhile, the mean score of post-test was 77.2. moreover, the reading comprehension skill was also increased. among the five skills, namely; main idea, stated information, reference, inference and vocabulary, the highest increasing score was vocabulary. furthermore, the result of t-test indicated that the alternative hypothesis is accepted and null hypothesis is rejected. it is revealed from the calculation of t- test (9.685) is higher than t-table (2.064). it means that group investigation technique improves students’ reading comprehension.
