this research is about improving students’ ability in composing recount text through jigsaw story writing. the objective of this research is to know whether there is any improvement of students’ writing ability after they are taught through jigsaw story writing and to know which aspects of writing increase more after they are taught through jigsaw story writing. the methodology of this research was quantitative experimental research, that was one group pretest-posttest design. the subject of this research was the second graders of 27 students. in completing the research, the researcher used written test as an instrument of collecting data. by conducting the experimental
