this research analyzed the speech acts of english teacher’s utterances that produced in teaching and learning process for disabled students, especially students with mild retardation (c). this research used descriptive qualitative method. to collect the data, the researcher recorded teacher’s utterances by using video recorder. then, the recording was transcribed into conversational transcription. the transcription was analyzed by applying speech act theory adapted from austin (1962) and searle (1969). the result of this research showed that the teacher produced 207 performative utterances. each performative utterances consist of locutionary act, illocutionary act, and perlucutionary act. for locutionary
