kelas laki-laki xi mia 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes untuk menilai keterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep peserta didik dan angket motivasi untuk melihat motivasi belajar peserta didik. analisis data menggunakan analisis varian (anava) pada taraf signifikan 0,05 dan hasil hubungan antara keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan penguasaan konsep dan hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan penguasaan konsep menggunakan rumus korelasi. hasil analisis varian menunjukkan bahwa f_hitung >? f?_tabel yaitu untuk keterampilan berpikir kritis 580,27 > 2,70, motivasi belajar 14,49 > 2,70 dan penguasaan konsep peserta didik 28,70 > 2,70, dan hasil hubungan antara keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan penguasaan konsep peserta didik perempuan menunjukkan nilai r = 0,527 dan peserta didik laki-laki menunjukkan nilai r = 0,468 sedangkan hasil hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan penguasaan konsep peserta didik perempuan menunjukkan nilai r = 0,642 dan peserta didik laki-laki menunjukkan nilai r = 0,480. simpulan model pembelajaran tps berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis, motivasi belajar, dan penguasaan konsep peserta didik dan adanya korelasi yang cukup kuat antara keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan penguasaan konsep peserta didik, adanya korelasi yang kuat pada peserta didik perempuan sedangkan korelasi yang cukup kuat pada peserta didik laki-laki antara motivasi belajar dengan penguasaan konsep pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia di mas babun najah banda aceh. kata kunci: think pair share, gender, berpikir kritis, motivasi belajar, penguasaan konsep peserta didik. lasri. 2017. the influence of gender-based think pair share learning model on students’ critical thinking, motivation, and concept mastery in human excretion system concepts at mas babun najah banda aceh. supervisor i dr. hasanuddin, m.si,. supervisor ii dr. khairil, m.si. abstract this study aimed at determining the effects of the use of gender-based tps learning model on human excretion system concepts to critical thinking skills, learning motivation, concept mastery, as well as the relationship between critical thinking skills with conceptual mastery, and learning motivation with mastery of concepts on learning concepts human excretion system . the data were collected in march 2017. the method employed in this research was factorial design method. this study was conducted on 4 classes i.e. xi mia 1 consisting female students and xi mia 4 consisting male students. these two classes were used as the experimental classes whereas class xi mia 3 consisting female students and xi mia 2 with male students were chosen as control classes. the instruments used were series of tests to assess critical thinking skills and mastery of concepts and motivational questionnaires to see learners' motivation. the data were analyzed by using variance analysis (anava) at significant level of 0,05 and the result of correlation between critical thinking skill with mastery of concept and relation between learning motivation with mastery of concept were calculated by using correlational formula. the result of variance analysis showed that fcount > ftable with critical thinking skill was 580,27 > 2,70, learning motivation 14,49 > 2,70 and mastery of concept 28,70 > 2,70, and result of relation between critical thinking skill with the mastery of the concept of female learners showed the value of r = 0,527 and male students showed the value of r = 0,468 while the result of the relationship between learning motivation with mastery of the concept of female students showed the value of r = 0,642 and male students showed the value of r = 0,480. thus, it can be concluded that of the tps learning model influences critical thinking skills, learning motivation, and mastery of concepts and there was a strong correlation between critical thinking skills and mastery of concepts, strong correlation in female learners while the correlation was strong enough in male learners. there was a strong correlation between learning motivation and mastery of concepts for female students and strong enough correlation for male students in learning concepts human excretion system at mas babun najah banda aceh. keywords: think pair share, gender, critical thinking, motivation learning, concept
