this research intended to find out whether graphic organizer technique improved students’ writing skill or not. this research was conducted at man rukoh banda aceh. the sample was taken by random sampling. this study approached quantitatively through an experimental method, specificially one group pre-test-post-test design. this study focused on in improving students’ writing skill in composing recount text in the aspect of content, organization, vocabulary, language use and mechanics. the instrument used to collect the data in this study was a test. the technique of data analysis, the writer used statistical formula. the mean score of pre-test was (66) and the post-test was (77). the finding
