inkubasi pada suhu 370c. koloni candida dihitung dengan colony counter. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan candida oral yang diisolasi sebesar 92,3% dari keseluruhan sampel, dengan spesies c. albicans sebanyak 50,4%, c. glabrata 37,0%, c.tropicalis 11,8%, dan c. parapsilosis 0,8%. simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah koloni spesies candida oral yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah c. albicans, yang kemudian diikuti oleh c. glabrata, c.tropicalis, c. parapsilosis, dan tidak ditemukan c. krusei. kata kunci: kolonisasi, candida oral, lansia abstract name : muliana sari study program : dentistry title : oral candida colonization in the elderly in uptd rumoh seujahtra geunaseh sayang ulee kareng banda aceh . oral candida is a normal oral microflora in healthy individuals but in immunocompromised condition it can be pathogen. the elderly are vulnerable to get infection, one of them is oral candida infection (oral candidiasis). this study was aimed to examine the oral candida colonization in the elderly in uptd rumoh seujahtra geunaseh sayang ulee kareng banda aceh. this cross sectional descriptive study included 26 elderly in uptd rumoh seujahtra geunaseh sayang ulee kareng banda aceh began on february 18 until march 14, 2013. samples of oral specimens obtained with oral rinse technique, then cultured on chromagar candida medium and identified at 48 hours after incubation at a temperature of 370c. candida colonies counted by colony counter. the results shown that the growth of oral candida was isolated by 92.3% of the total sample, the species founded were c. albicans 50.4%, c. glabrata 37.0%, c. tropicalis 11.8%, and c.parapsilosis 0.8%. conclusions from this study was a colony of oral candida species most commonly found c. albicans, followed by c. glabrata, c.tropicalis, c.parapsilosis, and not found c. krusei. keywords: colonization, oral candida,
