sekunder berupa foto panoramik dari pasien yang mengalami gigi impaksi molar tiga mandibula. didapatkan 148 foto panoramik pasien di rsgm unsyiah periode juni 2012-januari 2013 dan 81 pasien (54,7%) mengalami impaksi molar tiga mandibula. berdasarkan klasifikasi george winter, mesioangular adalah kasus yang terbanyak yaitu 54 gigi (43,5%). berdasarkan klasifikasi pell dan gregory, kasus yang terbanyak adalah kelas 2 yaitu 100 gigi (80,6%) dan posisi a 81 gigi (65,3%). kesimpulannya bahwa kasus impaksi molar tiga mandibula di rsgm unsyiah banda aceh periode juni 2012-januari 2013 adalah sebesar 54,7%. kasus yang paling sering terjadi pada impaksi molar tiga mandibula adalah mesioangular yaitu 43,5%, kelas 2 (80,6%) dan posisi a (65,3%). kata kunci: impaksi, klasifikasi george winter, klasifikasi pell dan gregory abstract name : sri rezeki program study : dentistry title : the prevalence of impacted mandibular third molar and its classification using radiograph in rsgm unsyiah banda aceh period june 2012-january 2013 impacted teeth is the most common phenomenon in dentistry. mandibular third molar is the most common teeth being impacted. it was because mandibular third molar is the last erupted teeth which can lead narrowed or missing space to erupted. previous research was done to identified the prevalence of impacted teeth. impacted teeth had classified by george winter (1926) and pell and gregory with different method. this study was aimed to describe the prevalence of impacted mandibular third molar and its classification using radiograph in rsgm unsyiah banda aceh period june 2012-january 2013. the method of this study is descriptive by collecting secondary data from panoramic photo of patients who had impacted mandibular third molar. there are 148 panoramic photo of patients in rsgm unsyiah and impacted mandibular third molar was had by 81 patients (54,7%) during june 2012-january 2013. based on george winter classification, 54 teeth (43,5%) is mesioangular which the most common impacted teeth in this study. based on pell and gregory classification, 100 teeth (80,6%) are class 2 and 81 teeth (65,3%) with position a. the conclusion of this study shown that the prevalence of impacted mandibular third molar in rsgm unsyiah banda aceh period june 2012- january 2013 was 54,7%. the most common impacted teeth of this study was mesioangular (43,5%), class 2 (80,6%) and position a (65,3%). keyword: impacted teeth, george winter classification, pell and gregory
