Abstrak

Abstract ¬ name : martunis student number : 1006102050031 study program : english education title : the implementation of mind mapping in teaching reading (an experimental study at the first year of mas al-manar aceh besar) keyword: mind mapping, teaching reading, and identifying of the information. this study aimed to find out the implementation of mind mapping technique improving reading comprehension achievement for the first year students mas al-manar aceh besar. the data were analyzed by using the quantitative with experimental method to present the data on students’ answers (knowledge). the research population is the first year students of mas al-manar aceh besar. the samples of this study were students of class xb. the total of the sample was 25 students. the instrument used is test and questionnaire. the data of test were analyzed by using t-formula to find out the t-score. the research result proved that t-score is 2.02 and the critical value of t-table

s 1.677, the critical value of t-score is defined based on 48 degree of freedom on the level of significant 0.05. because of t-score is higher that the critical value of t-score, alternative hypothesis is accepted and null hypothesis is rejected. it is clearly showed that the implementation of mind mapping technique improve reading comprehension. it is also proved by the students’ answer with the correct answer. so, mind mapping technique can improve students’ reading
