the aim of this study is to know whether the collaborative strategic reading (csr) has significant effect on students’ achievement in reading skill in terms of understanding the main idea, elicit supporting details, and identifying inferences. this study was approached quantitatively through an experimental method, one group pretest-post-test design. the third grade students in sman 6 banda aceh were taken as the population of this study, and the sample was class xii-ia4. the result of the study shows that there was a significant effect on students’ reading skill achievement
